Peedya ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: your name, username, email address and password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see your password in plain text).
• Order and delivery details: name, phone number, delivery address, items ordered, order value and payment method chosen (for example Cash on Delivery).
• Seller account details (only if you sell on Peedya): store name, owner name, business address, optional GSTIN, UPI ID and bank details for payouts, and the products you list.
• Messages: anything you send us through the in-site message feature.
• Subscriptions: your mobile number if you subscribe to offers and updates.
• Usage data stored on your device: your cart, favourites and preferences are kept in your browser's local storage so they are still there when you return.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and process, deliver and track your orders.
• To reply to your messages and provide customer support.
• To send offers and updates, only if you subscribed (you can ask us to stop at any time).
• To keep the store secure, prevent fraud and improve the site.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run the store:

• Service providers: our hosting, database and authentication provider (Supabase), and delivery or courier partners who need your name, phone number and address to deliver your order. Sellers can see the name, phone number, delivery address and ordered items of orders that contain their own products, so they can pack and ship them.
• Legal reasons: when required by law, court order or a government authority, or to protect our rights and users.

Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and product images from third-party image hosts, which may receive your IP address when your browser requests those files.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage (and similar technology) to remember your cart, favourites and login session. We do not use it for third-party advertising. You can clear it any time from your browser settings, but your cart and favourites will then be lost.

5. Data security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls so that only authorised admins can view orders and customer details. No online system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights

In line with Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
• correct or update inaccurate data,
• delete your data or close your account, and
• withdraw your consent to marketing messages.

Email peedya.in@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to keep some records (such as order invoices) where the law requires it.

7. Children

Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 without a parent or guardian's consent. If you believe a child has given us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites (for example social media). We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do, and continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
